BELT PROMOTIONS

Unlike other Martial Arts, Kung-Fu San Soo dose not have tournaments and or competitions. Kung-Fu San Soo is a pure street fighting art. The promotions are based on skills the students have learned and how well the student uses them in their workouts. Kung-Fu San Soo colored belts are equivalent to the following:
| White Belt | 1 thru 4th grade Grammar School |
| Yellow Belt | 5th thru 8th grade Grammar School |
| Green Belt | 9th thru 10th grade Jr. High School |
| Brown Belt | 11th thru 12 grade High School |
| Black Belt | 13th thru 16th college undergrad studies |
| Degrees of Black Belt | Graduate studies toward MA or PhD |
| Master | PhD |
